Woodford sits on the edge of Epping Forest, with some of East London’s finest Edwardian and interwar houses. We work on the Monkhams estate, in Woodford Wells, along Broadmead Road and The Drive, and in South Woodford around George Lane and Churchfields.
The Monkhams estate holds large arts and crafts and Edwardian detached houses; Woodford Wells and Woodford Green have Georgian and Victorian houses facing the Forest. South Woodford is mainly substantial Edwardian semi-detached and terraced houses, well suited to side-return extensions, lofts and lower-ground conversions.
Redbridge determines applications, and much of Woodford is covered by conservation areas, including Monkhams, Woodford Wells, Woodford Green and South Woodford. Front elevations, roof forms and original joinery are protected; rear extensions and basements are assessed on scale and character.
On the Monkhams estate and Woodford Wells, conservation area consent shapes the design from the first sketch. We meet the planning officer early, so you are not redesigning after a refusal.
Replanned, rebuilt and finished by one team, with services, insulation and acoustics brought to a new-build standard.
Kitchen and garden-room extensions, side returns and two-storey additions, designed around the planning position from the start.
Cinema rooms, gyms, pools and wine rooms, engineered for London Clay with waterproofing and drainage designed in.
Mansard, dormer and hip-to-gable conversions, measured for head height at survey.
Where the plot is worth more than the house, a new house designed around what planning will allow.
Designed alongside the architecture, made in our own workshop, fitted by the same team.

We take a limited number of houses each year. A director reviews every enquiry. Call 020 7731 6841 or email info@nuprojects.co.uk.
