Epping and Theydon Bois are where East London meets the Essex countryside: village houses on Coppice Row and Piercing Hill, larger homes around Coopersale, and country houses and converted barns on the lanes beyond. We design and build all of them under one contract.
Period village houses, substantial interwar and post-war detached houses on large plots, and farmhouses and agricultural buildings converted to homes. Many owners want pool houses, gyms, garaging and staff or guest accommodation alongside the main house.
Epping Forest District Council determines applications, and almost everything outside the village envelopes is Metropolitan Green Belt. Extensions and outbuildings are judged on proportionality, replacement houses on size, and listed farmhouses and barns need listed building consent. Theydon Bois and Epping have conservation areas at their centres.
On a country plot, outbuildings and leisure buildings often matter as much as the house. We test the green belt position for the whole scheme, not just the extension.
Replanned, rebuilt and finished by one team, with services, insulation and acoustics brought to a new-build standard.
Kitchen and garden-room extensions, side returns and two-storey additions, designed around the planning position from the start.
Cinema rooms, gyms, pools and wine rooms, engineered for London Clay with waterproofing and drainage designed in.
Mansard, dormer and hip-to-gable conversions, measured for head height at survey.
Where the plot is worth more than the house, a new house designed around what planning will allow.
Designed alongside the architecture, made in our own workshop, fitted by the same team.

We take a limited number of houses each year. A director reviews every enquiry. Call 020 7731 6841 or email info@nuprojects.co.uk.
