Wanstead has the feel of a village between Wanstead Park and Wanstead Flats, with Victorian and Edwardian houses on some of East London’s best roads. We design and build on Blake Hall Road, Spratt Hall Road, The Drive, Grosvenor Road, around the High Street and across the Aldersbrook estate.
The houses
Large double-fronted Victorian villas on Blake Hall Road and The Drive; handsome Edwardian terraces and semis on the Aldersbrook estate and around Wanstead Park. Houses are generous but often cut up by earlier conversions and in need of a proper replan.
Planning in Redbridge
Redbridge determines applications. Wanstead Village and Aldersbrook are conservation areas, so roof extensions, front changes and window replacement need care, and some roads carry Article 4 directions removing permitted development. Rear extensions and lofts are routinely approved when designed to suit the house.
